Privacy

This page covers three things: the email address you leave on the waitlist, a message you send through the feedback form, and anonymous counts of how the site is used. Mikronome does not run accounts, does not sell anything yet, and collects nothing else.
What we collect for the waitlist
- Your email address.
- Optionally, what you do, if you choose to tell us.
- The exact consent wording shown to you, and the time you confirmed, so that what you agreed to is a record rather than a memory.
- A one-way hash of your IP address, used only to limit abuse of the form. The address itself is never stored.
Why we collect it
To send you one email, when the instrument is available. That is the only purpose. Your address will not be used for anything else, will not be sold, and will not be shared.
Our lawful basis is your consent, given by ticking the box and confirmed by clicking the link in the email we send you.
Removing your address
Every email we send carries a removal link that works immediately and needs no login. You can also write toprivacy@mikronome.comand ask us to remove, correct or send you a copy of what we hold. We aim to respond within 30 days.
How long we keep it
- An address that is never confirmed is deleted after 48 hours.
- A confirmed address is kept until you remove it, or until the venture ends, whichever comes first.
Feedback
When you send a message through the feedback form, we keep:
- Your message, what it is about, and which page you sent it from.
- On the scope page, the board and browser you were using, only if you tick the box to include them.
- An email address, only if you tick the box asking us to reply, with the exact wording you agreed to. We use it only to reply to that message.
- A one-way hash of your IP address, used only to limit abuse of the form.
Each message is also emailed to the team. A reply address is deleted after 90 days, and the message itself after 12 months. Messages are never published.
Anonymous counts
To see whether the site is useful, it counts a few things each day: visits to the home page and the scope page, the demo being started, a board connecting or failing to connect (by type of board), the Sketch window being opened and a sketch being copied, captures being saved, answers to "Was the scope useful?", and feedback being sent.
Only the daily totals are kept. There are no cookies, and nothing that could tell one visitor from another: no address, no identifier and no time of day. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, nothing is counted at all.
Where it is stored
On Cloudflare infrastructure, and our email is sent through Resend. Both process data outside South Africa. By leaving your address you agree to that transfer.
