Measure between two points with cursors

Place two markers on the trace to measure a time, a frequency or a voltage difference.

  1. Press Stop to hold the capture still.
  2. Press Cursors (or C). Two lines, A and B, appear on the screen and the Cursors group opens in the controls.
  3. Choose Time for vertical time cursors or Volts for horizontal voltage cursors.
  4. Drag each line to a point of interest, or use their step keys in the controls.
  5. Read the cursor readout:
    • with Time cursors: Δt is the time from A to B, 1 / |Δt| is the frequency that time implies, and ΔV is the voltage difference between the signal at A and at B;
    • with Volts cursors: Level A, Level B and ΔV, B minus A read the two horizontal voltage levels and the span between them.
