Your first trace, with the demo board
See a live signal in a minute, with no board and nothing to install.
The demo board runs inside the scope page and behaves like a real board, so it is the quickest way to learn the controls. It works in any browser, on a computer or a phone.
Start it
- Open the scope.
- In the Board list, choose Demo board, no hardware.
- Press Start the demo board.
A sine wave appears on the screen, and the measurements beside it start to update: frequency, peak to peak, RMS and the rest.
Try the controls
- Press Autoset. The scope picks a time and voltage scale that fits the signal.
- Press the time per division + and - keys and watch the waves spread out and squeeze together.
- Open Demo signal in the controls and change the waveform to Square. The duty cycle measurement now means something; change it and watch the readout follow.
- Under Display, choose Spectrum to see which frequencies the signal contains. A square wave shows a row of peaks; a sine wave shows one.
- Rest the pointer on the trace (or tap it on a phone) to read the time and voltage at that point.
