How to

Use the scope on a phone

What works on a phone, and how the screen is laid out.

Small touch screens use a simpler scope: the waveform, frequency and peak to peak voltage, Run/Stop, Autoset, and time and volts per division. Tap the trace to read a point, or drag it to move the signal. The rate and trigger use Auto.

Open Setup and help to choose a board, read the sketch instructions or send feedback. The demo works without a board. Turn the phone sideways to place the basic controls beside the trace.

Spectrum analysis, cursors, capture history, reference traces, trend logging and exports are available on a computer or tablet. Larger touch screens and narrow computer windows keep the full tools, with tabs when space is limited. A saved analysis view returns when you move back to a larger screen.

Connecting a USB board needs a desktop browser with Web Serial. Use the demo on a phone; WiFi support is still in development.
