Set up a Raspberry Pi Pico, C++
Upload the scope's sketch to a Raspberry Pi Pico, C++ and connect it.
The Pico’s input is GP26 and its test signal is on GP15: a square wave at 1000 Hz. Its input accepts 0 V to 3.3 V. The same sketch suits a Pico, Pico W, Pico 2 and Pico 2 W.
With this sketch the Pico reads sine waves best below 20 000 Hz and square waves below 10 000 Hz; what it reads at other speeds is in Accuracy and limits.
The same steps are in the scope’s Sketch window when you choose this board, with the sketch to copy or download.
Steps
- Install the Arduino IDE. In
Preferences, add this address to Additional boards manager URLs:
https://github.com/earlephilhower/arduino-pico/releases/download/global/package_rp2040_index.json - Open Boards Manager and install Raspberry Pi Pico/RP2040/RP2350.
- Copy the sketch from this window into a new sketch, or download it and open it.
- Choose your board: Raspberry Pi Pico, Pico W, Pico 2 or Pico 2W. For the first upload, hold the BOOTSEL button while plugging the board in, then press Upload. Uploading replaces anything already on the board, MicroPython included, so copy off any files you want to keep first.
- Close the IDE’s Serial Monitor if it is open, then press Connect and choose the Pico.
