Keyboard shortcuts

Run the scope from the keyboard, as you would from a bench scope's front panel.

Shortcuts work whenever the scope page has focus and no window is open over it. They do nothing while you are typing in a field.

In How it works, clear Enable keyboard shortcuts to turn off the global scope shortcuts, including the arrow keys and Space. The choice is remembered in this browser. Every on-screen control still works: Tab to a button and press Space or Enter. Open How it works from its button and tick the box to turn shortcuts back on; the ? key also stays off while shortcuts are disabled.

Key What it does
Space Run or stop
S Single capture
A Autoset
Left arrow Less time per division
Right arrow More time per division
Up arrow Bigger trace (fewer volts per division)
Down arrow Smaller trace (more volts per division)
C Cursors on or off
F Screen: time, split, spectrum (FFT) alone, or spectrogram
R Keep as the reference

Spectrum shortcuts

These work only in Split, Spectrum or Spectrogram. The time-view arrows keep their existing functions. A dropdown, input, open window, or a Ctrl, Cmd or Alt combination keeps its own keys. The equals key also narrows the span, so Shift is optional on keyboards with + above =.

Key What it does
+ Narrower spectrum span
- Wider spectrum span
[ Move spectrum span lower
] Move spectrum span higher
0 Full spectrum span
L Linear or log frequency axis
M Spectrum markers on or off
P Peak table on or off
W Next spectrum window
T Next spectrum trace mode

Span zoom and marker placement need a capture. Move the span after zooming in. Changing the axis restores the full span. W cycles through Rectangular, Hann, Hamming, Blackman-Harris and Flat top; T cycles through Normal, Average, Max hold and Min hold. Both wrap back to the beginning. These are the same settings as the buttons and lists, and are remembered in this browser.
