Run and Stop

Run captures continuously and updates the screen. Stop freezes the last capture, so you can study it, measure it with cursors, or save it. While stopped, the History bar can step back through earlier captures. Keyboard: Space.

Single

Takes one capture that meets the trigger, then stops. Use it to catch an event that happens once, such as a button press or a power-on. Keyboard: S.

Autoset

Looks at the signal and sets the time per division, volts per division, centre voltage and trigger level so that a few cycles fill the screen. A good first press whenever the trace looks wrong. Keyboard: A.
